Dezeen Showroom: American designer Levi Christiansen journeyed into his childhood desires to create the tables, seating and shelving in the Designs from Dwelling selection, which explores otherworldly imagery by means of woodwork.
Christiansen was motivated to generate the Shapes from Home selection just after his mom experienced a possibility encounter with an oracle, who brought up the vivid goals he’d had as a child.
It prompted him to revisit the imagery of all those goals, in which he frequently visited a house he’d hardly ever seen in authentic everyday living. The surreal kinds in the Styles from Home collection are derived from those people dreams.
The Plural coffee desk, for case in point, features oblong panels of walnut wooden with environmentally friendly marble tops and legs formed like triangular prisms, mixing rounded and angled shapes.
Built with regular woodworking strategies, the Rhoco chair contrasts a wedge-formed backrest upholstered in wool and mohair boucle with a flat, tapered frame.
The Juntos shelf has delicate divisions in its symmetry that emphasise the attractiveness of the cascading joinery although the Straddle side desk has a sculptural existence, with two playfully tapered legs holding up a cantilevered major.
At last, the There, There sofa is virtually completely upholstered in ink-coloured leather-based, with a contrasting timber again and feet. All of the pieces are created with strong walnut wooden.
“Even though Designs From Household is influenced by an summary idea, my layout philosophy is rooted in making balanced and wonderful home furniture,” reported Christiansen.
